School maturity and postponement of school attendance and speech disorders

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of school maturity, the communication level of preschool children and the postponement of school attendance from the point of view of speech therapy and school counseling facilities. The theoretical part contains three chapters devoted to topics necessary for defining the qualification work. The content of the first chapter is an introduction to the theoretical framework of communication and child development from birth to preschool age with a primary focus on speech development. The second chapter defines impaired communication ability from the general basis to the specifics of communication of children in preschool and younger school age. The third chapter analyzes the support of preschool children's communication skills, the area of school readiness with the examination of school maturity in a pedagogical-psychological counseling center and postponement of school attendance. In the practical part, the methodology of qualitative research and the research investigation itself are presented. From a methodological point of view, we worked with the analysis of data obtained through semi-structured interviews with a clinical speech therapist, a child psychologist and a special pedagogue from a pedagogical-psychological consultancy. What Are Children Talking About In Art Lessons?

The bachelor's thesis deals with the communication of preschool children in kindergarten during art activities, their sharing of feelings, enthusiasm for creation. The aim of the work is to describe the communication of children during selected art activities and how the interest in their communication is manifested. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the topics of communication, children's interactions, the characteristics of art activities, all with regard to preschool children. The practical part is devoted to 7 selected art activities, which are then realized with children. The author of bachelor thesis tries to engage as a silent observer, but also as a participant. Using a video camera, all art activities had been recorded, transcribed and then analyzed through open coding. The research questions had been discussed: What do children say during art activities? Specific research questions had been established: What do children talk about spontaneously during art activities? What non-verbal expressions do they accompany their communication? How does mutual communication differ on the basis of different art activities? How does the communication between girls and boys differ? Musical activities in the bilingual kindergarten

ABSTACT This bachelor's thesis deals with musical activities in a bilingual kindergarten with a special focus on singing. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first theoretical part primarily compares the differences between German and Czech children' songs. It also describes specific aspects of musical activities and their role in acquiring a language, speech and communication abilities. Later follows clarification of the language and communication importance among pre-school children. Furthermore, in form of suggestions we discuss the conception of bilingual and multilingual communication between parents and a child. Also, within the theoretical part there is a section regarding contemporary legislation, terminology and institutions which deal with that problematic. The practical research comprises of formulating the research aims and used methods and of describing the sample kindergarten and the process as well as the results of the active research that focused on realization of musical activities. The thesis sets several aims. Firstly, it surveys what type of musical activities are suitable for a bilingual kindergarten environment and how to effectively engage the children in these activities.
